BIO
Whitney Campbell is a soprano from New Orleans, Louisiana. In 2022, she graduated with a M.M. in Vocal Performance from San Francisco Conservatory of Music, where she studied with Rhoslyn Jones. She earned a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Oberlin Conservatory of Music under the tutelage of Marlene Rosen. Her recent roles include Léontine in Joseph Bologne's L'amant anonyme, Helena in Britten's A Midsummer Night's Dream, Madame Lidoine in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, Mrs. Grose in The Turn of the Screw by Benjamin Britten, and Mrs. Gobineau in Menotti’s The Medium. In January 2019, Ms. Campbell was named a Rubin Scholar by Marilyn Horne. In 2021, Ms. Campbell was named a District Winner of the San Francisco district of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Most recently, she sang the role of Mother in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel with San Francisco Conservatory of Music. In summer 2022, she could be seen singing the roles of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni by Mozart and Mrs. Medlock in The Secret Garden by Lucy Simon at the Chautauqua Opera Conservatory.
